The queens compete for who had the roughest experience in being married to the king. They even place a relatable twist on the story by incorporating a dating app through a parody.
Eventually, they realize that arguing over who had the worst time with Henry VIII is pointless. They come to realize that Henry VIII denied their individuality. They are not just the six wives of a terrible king - they have their own strengths that deserve celebrating. The ex-wives eventually help each other to write new endings to their lives. They achieve their “happily ever afters” that Henry VIII denied them by picturing what their lives could have been like without seeing Henry VIII.
